Prayer Contracts. Matthew 18:18 states, “Whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven.” The word bind means to place a contract on something. When we are in God’s will, we can be guaranteed that His will, will be done.

In 2009, we had a huge economic correction. In America, a recession was inevitable. Prices had gone higher than anyone could afford. And so, homes were lost and property values plummeted. This is when God took over. There was an old dilapidated home built in 1907 that came on the market. It was in total disrepair but God had a vision. While I was hiking up Kearsarge Pass in Inyo County, my husband George called me and said, “we just bought the house!” I was overjoyed and overcome with emotion. How were we so fortunate to be the new owners of this property?

The Lord truly gifted us this bungalow. We put much love, sweat and tears into this place. The original plan was to turn it into a non-profit but that was nixed fairly quick. So I took my time as our Homeless Man Joe, continued to live on the front porch. He was our Security Guard. I would feed him daily and he protected all the equipment and supplies that were left at night, during the remodel. It was God’s perfect protection plan. Nearly one year later, we completed “this old house” and my son and grandson moved in. Over the next ten years, we provided a home for three different single parents. This was God’s plan all along and I just needed to get onboard.

When we go in contract with God, we push our limits and stretch our faith. When we reach for a goal, the process, the growth that we experience, is the goal! It all comes together when we allow the Lord to guide us. So instead of us doing great things, God is doing great things in us! And that is binding, chained together and unable to be shaken!

“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:19-20
