Thank Goodness for New Beginnings 2021

I’m not sure where your heart has been during 2020, but I know for certain, unless you live under a rock, God has your attention. This past year has been one of change to put it mildly. My life has taken more twists and turns and it has truly made me take notice. As much as I would like to think it, I am not in control!

The plans I had for 2020 were only those, plans! I’ve found that man made plans are not God ordained instructions! This has opened my eyes to what God truly has in store for me.

As I was reading my devotional this morning, sitting on a granite rock at Folsom Lake, I knew that something has to change. I need to sit still and listen to what plans Jesus has for my life. Not plans that I etched out from reading other people’s adventures, not desires that I seek but ones that are so clear and defined, that they burn with passion in my heart! Only those are truly from heaven above.

So God, what is it that you have desired for me? Who is the person you have desired me to be? As I listen for a word, a phrase, I can only hear compassionate. He leads me to be a place where I desire compassion over any other thought! To love others like He loves me, to feel others pain and suffering that I may be able to ease it with a touch or my very presence, to be outside myself and desire to be the woman He created me to be.

As I walked to my solitary rock today, I was unsure what He was going to uncover in the deepest part of my soul. But once I sat and listened, He was crystal clear. As the waves lap up on the shore, as the sun beams glisten down on the water, Our most glorious Heavenly Father opens my heart and places that burning desire to be His wonderfully made daughter.

My prayer for you is that this day, this year, before you make your own plans, you can take the time and ask God what does He have planned for your year?

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

  2. God is so good! Just this morning I was thinking about you Kelly and after a very long walk and busy afternoon I open up my email and here you are uplifting us with your post and reminder to turn to God and ask what His plans are for us in this coming year! This was such a beautiful post and reminder that God wants us to turn to Him and draw on what He has planned for us. I miss being in your BSF class but God is so good because my daughter up in the pacific Northwest is a leader and invited me into her class which has been such a beautiful blessing.
Miss you dear lady and so grateful for your posts ❣❣

  3. Awe, so glad you are studying with your daughter. How awesome is that! Yes, we are on the same journey-walking with God and opening our heart to the path He has placed us on. I do promise that I will make it to your neck of the woods this year! I sure miss you.

  4. You are awesome and so in love with our good Lord God. You inspire others and you are already on your path with your future so designed by God by inspiring and loving others and having compassion for all. Continue to share your thoughts and prayers!
